About the Nomad Archives
The Nomad Theatre's new digital archives are being administered by
Nick Johnston.
Technical details
To ensure ease of use and expandability for the future, all features of
NomadArchives.org are being created using advanced programming techniques.
The website that you see here runs off a backbone of programming code. This
allows the website to run from an easy to manage folder and file structure.
When new photos are received either via a digital scan of the existing archives,
or in digital form from CD or via email, the photos just need to be placed in the
appropriate folder. The XML sitemap that you can see to the left then displays
that folder amongst the others. When this folder is viewed, another element
of the website displays all the photos contained as thumbnails. Larger previews
can then be viewed, as can the original resolution photo.
While viewing photo previews, you can also see any stored technical information
on the photo, often the camera used, exact date taken and numerous other details.
If you have photos of a Nomad, Young Nomad or Nome event and would like them published
on this website, and added to the existing hard copy archives, please
contact us
or drop into the theatre.
